Leslie Shows is a Los Angeles-based artist whose sculptural paintings incorporate metal, glass, sand, and assemblage. Solo exhibitions include the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, the San Francisco Art Institute’s Walter & McBean Gallery, Jack Hanley Gallery, Haines Gallery, and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art. She recently completed a 35-ft public artwork in glass for the San Francisco Central Subway, and a large lithomosaic for a grade 5-12 school in Richmond, CA. Her work has been exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Orange County Museum of Art, Berkeley Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the 8th Mercosul Biennial in Brazil, and has been written about in publications including Artforum, Art in America, and Modern Painters.
